388,000 households in WA struggle to put food on the table.
Bridge Builders Inc. prioritises providing food relief hampers to those in the Mandurah and Peel (Bindjareb) region who are experiencing or facing food insecurity. We believe that everyone should have access to food and are committed to reducing hunger and food insecurity in our local community. Recent studies show that food insecurity is increasing, especially among young adults and females, and is linked to increasing numbers of those living in poverty and poor health. Financial stress, rising housing and living costs all contribute to food insecurity however other factors such as employment, and education are also precursors, highlighting the need for tailored solutions to address poverty and related issues.
FOOD RESCUE
Where does it come from?
Our Community Food Pantry saves surplus food from being wasted and provides it to people who are struggling with food insecurity in our region. The food comes from various sources, including farmers, produce distributors, and larger foodservice organisations, and may include items that are nearing their expiration date, overstocked, seasonal, or cosmetically flawed. In addition to food rescue, the pantry also receives donations from local food drives and community contributions. To ensure that we meet the nutritional needs of those we serve, we also work with state and local partners to purchase food at the most affordable price to bridge any gaps.

Another major way we stock our shelves is through community food drives. These drives bring incredible variety to our pantry! Whether it’s fresh produce from Farmers Markets or canned goods from schools, businesses, and churches, we receive hundreds of kg of donations from the community every week.
NEED SUPPORT!
We know that life can be tough, and we're here to lend a hand when you need it most. At our Community Food Pantry in Greenfields, Mandurah, we offer weekly food hampers that may include fresh produce, dairy, bread, and pantry staples when available. Our friendly staff and volunteers are always ready to help—whether it's finding a snack for your kids or just offering a listening ear.
Our food pantry is open to everyone, with no eligibility criteria, so you can be assured that you won't be turned away. When you visit, we'll ask you to complete a simple intake form. All information is self-reported, and we won't request any documentation. Your privacy is important to us, and your personal details will be kept confidential.
While we ask for an optional $5 service fee to help cover our overhead costs, it is entirely voluntary and unrelated to the value of the food provided. If you're unable to contribute, just let one of our staff members know—your needs will always come first.
